Hello, welcome to my site!

I am a scientist specializing in weather and climate extremes—such as heatwaves and precipitation extremes. My work integrates physical understanding with big data to produce insights that are both rigorous and interpretable. Currently, I draw on theories of atmospheric dynamics, convective physics, and land-atmosphere interactions, combined with statistical analysis and numerical modeling, to better understand how these extreme events form and evolve. Looking ahead, I'm also turning my attention to risk assessments, climate solutions, and machine learning.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege to work with leading scientists in physics, atmospheric science, statistics, and land hydrology---and to grow with amazing peers. These precious experiences shaped the way I think scientifically, strengthened my analytical and programming skills, and deepened my drive to create high-quality, meaningful work.

Beyond research, I am passionate about science education. I didn’t grow up immersed in science, but was inspired by its mindset and methods throughout my educational and professional journey. I believe this perspective is still highly underrepresented in society, especially among women, and in the perception of women. I hope to play a small part in changing this.

Outside of science, I practice classical Chinese dance and ballet, and have a broader interest in culture and the arts. I hope to one day weave elements of humanity and art into science communication, so that more people can truly feel its beauty, and into the daily lives of scientists themselves.
